BOARD
OF RULES AND APPEALS SUMMARY

The Board of Rules and Appeals was established for the purposes
of hearing appeals, approving alternative standards to various
model building codes, certifying contractors, hear and decide
whether or not to suspend or revoke a contractor certificate
of competency, deny issuance or renewal of certificates, impose
fines, or deny the issuance of building permits for cause.
The board consists of 13 members each possessing specific technical
and professional skills necessary to accomplish the work of
the board. Specific membership requirements can be found below
under "View Board of Rules and Appeals Guidelines".
Meetings are generally held once per quarter in City Hall Room 112. The board is assisted and supported
by the Department of Neighborhood and Development Services.
