The City Commission of the City of Sarasota is seeking individuals willing to serve on the following Advisory Boards:

Parks, Recreation and Environmental Protection Advisory Board

- One vacancy with no seat requirement

Enterprise Zone Development Agency Advisory Board

- One vacancy for Business Operating Within the Enterprise Zone

- One vacancy for Local Non-profit Business Organization

- One vacancy for Local Chamber of Commerce

- One vacancy for Non-profit Community-based Organizations Operating within the Enterprise Zone.

The Board is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the Enterprise Zone Strategic Plan, identifying and recommending to the City and County Commissions ways to remove regulatory barriers, assisting in the promotion of incentives within the Enterprise Zone, and working with various partner organizations to provide development consulting and training.

The Board meets at 8:00 a.m. the third Wednesday of alternate months beginning in February at various locations within the Enterprise Zone.

The importance of including on the Board individuals from the Enterprise Zone and also of minority representation to reflect the gender and ethnic composition of the community shall be considered in making appointments.
