The City of Sarasota celebrated Arbor Day with a ceremony at the Sarasota Military Academy. Four bald cypress trees were donated and planted by Tom Hughes Enterprises and DWJA Landscape Architects. Cadets with the SMA drum line provided an outstanding performance as did the bagpipe troupe. Several guest speakers, including City of Sarasota officials and a forester with the Florida Division of Forestry, discussed the importance of Sarasota’s urban forest.
