CITY SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT
ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Sarasota, FL: The City of Sarasota would like your input on the development of an affordable housing plan. You’re encouraged to attend a public meeting about affordable housing Tues., September 25, 2007 6pm – 8pm at the Federal Building, 111 S. Orange Ave. The meeting will take place in Room 100 A, B, C.

The meeting is designed to give residents an opportunity to speak about a housing presentation given by City staff and the Florida Housing Coalition to the City Commission this past July. During that presentation, best practices throughout the nation were examined. Some of those best practices included: inclusionary zoning, density bonuses, distributing City owned property, and streamlining the development process for builders of affordable housing. If you would like to address these topics or have other innovative suggestions for affordable housing within the City of Sarasota, we want to hear from you!
