PUBLIC INVITED TO ATTEND
AFFORDABLE HOUSING WORKSHOP

Sarasota, FL: The public is invited to attend a City Commission workshop on the issue of affordable housing, Thurs., July 5, 2007 at 2pm within the Commission Chambers at City Hall, 1565 First Street.

City staff members will provide the City Commission with policy strategies and action steps on how to increase the inventory of affordable housing within the City of Sarasota. Possible alternative policies include: establishing a dedicated revenue source for affordable housing, increased density bonuses, and adopting an inclusionary zoning ordinance requiring a given share of new construction be affordable to residents with low to moderate incomes.

While the public is encouraged to attend and learn more about affordable housing, public input will not be permitted.
