MORE PARKING ADDED
TO MAIN STREET

Sarasota, FL: Next time you drive down Main Street you’ll see more parking
spaces -- for two-wheeled vehicles. A total of 21 extra motorcycle/scooter parking spaces have been added along Main Street from Gulfstream Avenue to School Avenue.

“ Dead zones” at the ends of parking blocks, considered too small to park a car or truck, are now marked with motorcycle parking signs. Motorcycles and scooters will be allowed to park all day (not overnight) in a designated motorcycle parking space.

Initially, the new parking spaces will not be striped, so look for the distinct blue and white motorcycle parking signs, indicating parking is allowed. If the new spaces are used regularly, the City may consider creating more two-wheeled parking spaces in other parts of the downtown.
