Sarasota, FL:  You are invited to attend a community design meeting for the new parking garage to be located at 1289 N. Palm Avenue in downtown.  The meeting will be held Thurs., April 30th at 6pm in the Commission Chambers within City Hall, 1565 First Street.

The meeting will include a presentation by planning staff regarding the history of the project and the intended goals of the parking garage and accompanying retail space.  An architect working on the project and the City’s Parking Manager will be on hand to answer questions.  The City is interested in your input regarding four specific areas of the project:  the internal layout of the parking garage; the architectural design; green building techniques and the retail space.

New ideas and suggestions proposed at the meeting will be taken into consideration by staff.  It is expected a Request For Proposal for the project will be presented to a joint meeting with the CRA and CRA Advisory Board May 19th.

 The municipal parking garage will be 4-5 levels with approximately 700 parking spaces.  About 14,000 square feet of retail space will be located on the ground floor.
