CITY HOSTS AFFORDABLE HOUSING
TOWN HALL MEETING

Sarasota, FL – The City of Sarasota will host a town hall meeting on affordable housing Sat., September 16, 2006 from 8:30am – 1pm in the City Commission Chambers within City Hall located at 1565 First Street. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Ms. Jamie Ross, president of the Florida Housing Coalition and Director of the Florida Community Land Trust Institute will speak and moderate several panel discussions. Topics for those discussions will include home buyer programs, rental housing, homeowner programs, and special needs housing.

A broad spectrum of community agencies will participate in the panel discussions, including representatives from the Coalition to Assist Supported Living, Renaissance Manor, Catholic Charities, Habitat for Humanity, Good Homes, Community Housing Trust, the Sarasota Housing Authority, Raymond James and Associates and the Office of Housing and Community Development.

There will be opportunities for members of the public to speak to the panelists and address the issue of affordable housing.
