CITY HALL CLOSES
FOR MEMORIAL DAY

Sarasota, FL:   City of Sarasota administration offices will be closed Monday, May 25, 2009 in observance of Memorial Day.  The closing affects City Hall, the Federal Building and Public Works, although solid waste and recycling collection will not be impacted.

Each year, Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday in May.  Formerly known as “Decoration Day”, it commemorates the U.S. men and women who died while in military service to the United States.  Many Americans also celebrate Memorial Day as the symbolic beginning of summer.
