CITY LAUNCHES E-NEWSLETTER
Sarasota, FL: The City of Sarasota launched
an electronic newsletter today providing citizens with
another avenue to be informed about events and issues at
City Hall. “More and more residents are getting their
information on-line. And, City E-News is a response to
that,” said Public Information Officer Jan Thornburg. “City
E-News is packed with news articles and informative tidbits.
It’s colorful, full of photographs and interactive.
Almost every article provides a link for the reader to
seek more information,” said Thornburg.
The inaugural edition of City E-News features a welcome
message from Mayor Lou Ann Palmer, an article about the
construction at the Saprito Fishing Pier, an update on
the new Sarasota police headquarters, and information about
the upcoming MLK Week celebrations throughout Sarasota. “Reading
City E-News is a great way to learn about what’s
going on at City Hall. For example, did you know the Neighborhood
Partnership Office is currently accepting applications
from residents and business owners to participate in the
City’s next Citizens’ Academy? Or that the
City has a website dedicated to informing citizens about
downtown street closures? That’s the kind of useful
and interesting information you’ll find in City E-News,” said
Thornburg.
City E-News can be found on the City of Sarasota
webpage www.sarasotagov.com. Readers also have the option to subscribe
and have it delivered directly to their inbox.
