CITY HOSTS
DANCE PARTY
Sarasota, FL: High school students are invited
to attend a dance party, hosted by the City of Sarasota,
Fri., November 23, 2007 8pm - midnight at the Municipal
Auditorium, 801 N. Tamiami Trail. All high school students
are welcome to attend. School identification or a school
progress report must be provided for admittance.
The dance party was the brainchild of employees at the
Municipal Auditorium who have teenage children and realized
there is a need for fun, activities for teenagers in Sarasota. “There’s
always a lot of kids here for prom, and they have a great
time,” said Debbie Perez, Municipal Auditorium Manager. “So,
we thought, ‘Why not throw a big dance party?’ We're
going to have hazers and club/disco style lighting, and
a great DJ. We're going to make it really exciting and
fun. And, hopefully, it'll be something the kids have never
experienced before."
DJ Chino will play the hottest music from hip-hop to reggaeton.
Admission is $13 in advance or $15 at the door and includes
soft drinks and snacks. One dollar from every ticket sold
in advance at a high school will be given to that school.
The dance party will include an exciting giveaway. One
lucky person will win a free iTouch.
The Municipal Auditorium is the site of many high school
proms. Two months ago, about one thousand Sarasota High
School students filled the Auditorium for the Sarasota
High Homecoming Dance.
Security will be provided by the Sarasota Police Department.
