| Sarasota, FL: Residents, neighborhood groups and stakeholders are invited to attend a community forum to be held on Thurs., Sept. 9, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Robert L. Taylor Complex, located at 1845 34th Street. The open forum is an opportunity for residents to vote on the new Newtown Gateway/U.S. 301 landscaping project, hear an update about the local job creation programs and hiring initiatives, and meet the Robert L. Taylor Community Taskforce members. “It’s of vital importance that we have broad participation and that all communities are targeted in Sarasota County,” said Vice Mayor Fredd “Glossie” Atkins.
The public is encouraged to attend the community forum. “I’m glad to see that the community is continuing the momentum, knowing that together we are strengthened and empowered in our collective efforts to advance community leadership/ownership in greater Newtown-North Sarasota,” said Lorna Alston, General Manager, North Sarasota Redevelopment Office.
The City Commission continues to focus on the Newtown community with its Top Five Priorities.
