CITY WELCOMES
FHSAA TOURNAMENT
Sarasota, FL: The City of Sarasota will host
the Florida High School Athletic Association baseball finals
at Ed Smith Stadium Wed., May 14th - Tues. May 20th. This
is the eighth year the City of Sarasota has proudly hosted
the statewide event.
The tournament will begin with 24 high school teams throughout
Florida, which play in six different classifications. By
the end, six teams will be crowned champions in their classes:
1A – 6A.
Tickets are $8 for each session, with a session consisting
of two games determined by the FHSAA. Tournament passes
are $72. Ticket booths open at 9am daily at Ed Smith Stadium,
2700 12th Street.
The FHSAA tournament is co-sponsored by the Sarasota Herald
Tribune/SNN6, Sarasota Sports Committee, Sarasota and Her
Islands Convention & Visitors Bureau, Sarasota Area
Sports Authority, Prudential Palms Realty, Dick’s
Sporting Goods, Homewood Suites, Hotel Indigo, Sarasota
Hotel & Marina, AmericInn, Buffalo Wild Wings, Legacy
Physical Therapy and Sports Training, U.S. Tent Rental,
W.G. Mills/Hunt Construction Group and Sarasota High School.
Please see the following tournament schedule for starting
times. No games are scheduled for Sun., May 18th. It will
serve as a rain date, if necessary.
