FIRST STREET PARKING LOT UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Sarasota – The First
Street public parking
lot, located at the corner of First St. and Lemon Ave., will
be partially closed for the next six weeks due to construction.
Access to the lot during that time will be available only
through the Lemon Ave. alley. The partial closure is due
to the demolition and reconstruction of a stormwater vault,
located under the parking lot. The vault is necessary for
the construction of Sur La Table, a retail component of the
Pineapple Square project.
In mid-July, it is expected the First Street public parking
lot will be closed completely for approximately five weeks
while the surface lot is reconstructed. The public will
benefit from this reconstruction, as additional public
parking spaces will be created. In the meantime, the public
is encouraged to park in the following locations:
• 2nd Street Parking Garage (entrance located between
Central Ave. and Lemon Ave.)
• “Boca Bargoons” Public Parking Lot (southeast corner of Orange Ave. and 2nd St.)
• State Street Public Parking
Lot (entrance on State
St. between Lemon Ave. and Orange Ave.)
• Fruitville Road and Lemon
Avenue Public Parking Lot (northeast corner of Fruitville Rd. and Lemon Ave.)
• City Hall Lots (across from First Street public
parking lot) – available weekdays after 5pm and on
weekends
