FL: Improvements to the intersection at Five Points in Downtown will begin on July 5, 2010, resulting in the closure of the intersection to vehicular traffic starting at 5:00 a.m. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained, and directional signage will be installed to direct the public to downtown businesses.
The work will include the installation of a fence around the area, demolition of pavement and the removal of the traffic signal. Crews will be working day and night shifts in order to complete the roundabout on or before Sept. 3, 2010.
Valet parking hours will be extended during this phase of the project: Monday – Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
