PAID PARKING DISCUSSION
CONTINUES WITH COMMUNITY
Sarasota, FL: The City of Sarasota will continue its discussion
about paid on-street parking with another meeting Thurs.,
February 5, 2009 8:30am – 10am in the Commission
Chambers located in City Hall, 1565 First Street.
This is the third in a series of discussions, and this
meeting will focus on four new issues:
• Impact of paid parking on specific
sidewalk cafes
• Enlisting not-for-profit organizations to assist with a
public information campaign
• Credit cards vs. smart cards
•
Community reaction to the City’s progress with
paid parking discussion
As with the first two meetings, the discussion will be
facilitated by Parking Manager Susan Dodd. Previous discussions
included the days and hours of parking meter operation;
blending paid parking equipment in with the downtown
streetscapes; and the aesthetics of paid parking equipment.
The discussion groups will meet monthly
for the next year to talk about moving toward paid on-street
parking in downtown
Sarasota. Although all meeting dates and times have not
been scheduled yet, by joining the City of Sarasota email
notification list, you will receive an electronic invitation
to each meeting. To register visit: http://www.egovlink.com/sarasota/subscriptions/subscribe.asp
