ROBERT L. TAYLOR COMMUNITY
COMPLEX MOVES FORWARD
Sarasota, FL: The concept design and revised
master plan for the new Robert L. Taylor Community Complex
will be presented to the City Commission for approval Mon.,
December 15, 2008 following last night’s supportive
community meeting.
The meeting attracted a substantial audience,
ranging from teenagers to senior citizens. “It was
a positive meeting,” said Todd Kucharski, City of
Sarasota Public Works General Manager. “Many people
participated, and we’re pleased about that because
this project is about the community. We, as City staff,
are working to facilitate this project in order to deliver
a significant new recreational facility in North Sarasota/Newtown
Community. The City is committed to ensuring the success
of the project, so we will continue to need community assistance
and input during the whole process of this unique and exciting
project,” said Kucharski.
City of Sarasota and Sarasota County staff
members, as well as the design consultant, fielded questions
from residents and provided explanations. All community
concerns were addressed with consensus reached that it is
a welcome and much needed development for the community.
