For Immediate Release: April 23, 2008

STATE STREET LOT
OPERATED BY IGH HOLDINGS

Sarasota, FL: Effective Thurs., May 1, 2008 the entire State Street public parking lot will be controlled and operated by IGH Holdings, LLC. All 139 public parking spaces will be reserved either for those people who purchase a Pineapple Square parking permit or for those who wish to pay for valet parking. (Valet parking is available to the general public. The valet station is located at the corner of State Street and Lemon Avenue.) New signs explaining the changes are being manufactured and soon will be displayed at the State Street lot.

Based upon action by the City Commission on May 15, 2006, IGH Holdings, LLC was granted the exclusive use of the State Street parking lot once it received a certificate of occupancy for a new business at the corner of State Street and Lemon Avenue. The Hyde Park Steakhouse received its certificate of occupancy from the City of Sarasota Fri., March 14, 2008. Negotiations between the City’s Parking Division and IGH Holdings, LLC resulted in half the State Street parking lot remaining open to the general public and downtown employee permit holders until May 1, 2008. The changes to the State Street parking lot are in anticipation that IGH Holdings, LLC will construct a multi-level parking garage with 350 public parking spaces as part of the Pineapple Square development.

The State Street lot will remain open and free to the public during the Farmers Market 6am – 2pm on Saturdays.

Please note: The First Street parking lot is now reserved for valet parking after 6pm every evening. New signs explaining this change soon will be displayed at the lot.

Pineapple Square parking permits may be purchased for the State Street lot by contacting Margaret at: 941-957-1108.
