WATER RESTRICTIONS

New water restrictions are now in effect within the City of Sarasota after SWFWMD, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, declared an extreme water shortage for Sarasota, Charlotte, DeSoto and Manatee Counties on February 24, 2009.

Irrigation days within Sarasota are still the same. Even numbered addresses may water only on Tuesday; odd numbered addresses may water only on Thursday.

The new water restrictions impact:

  • New lawns and plants
  • Hand watering
  • Fountains/waterfalls
  • Restaurants
