June of 1998, the City Commission consolidated Stormwater
functions with Sarasota County via an Interlocal Agreement.
Stormwater related operations, repairs, and capital improvements
within the City's jurisdiction are the responsibility of the
Sarasota County Public Works Business Center.

Florida Department of Transportation is responsible for Stormwater
functions on state roadways.
(US 41, US 301, University Parkway, Fruitville Road and Bee
Ridge Road along with SR 789 John Ringling Causeway to Longboat
Key.)

The
City Engineering Department continues to review proposed developments
site plans for conformance of City Code regulations related
to Stormwater.
