The
School Avenue Multi-Use Recreational Trail, also known as
the School Avenue MURT, is currently in the design phase.
This neighborhood Trail will begin at Siesta Drive and travel
north to Webber Street. Future plans will have it contine
to Hyde Park Street. One neighborhood meeting was held in
June, 2005 to receive input from residents. As a result of
the meeting the design was modified. A second meeting was
held in May, 2006 and plans have been finalized. Construction
began in summer 2007 and is now substantially complete.
The
School Avenue MURT consists of a 10 foot wide meandering trail,
some landscaping, lighting, benches and trash receptacles.
The trail is protected by bollards and handicapped ramps at
all street crossings.
