To
ensure the quality of your health care and to help control
spiraling health care costs, the City of Sarasota requires
precertification (by WEBTPA) for the following:
- Hospitalization
-
Outpatient
surgical procedures and invasive procedures (except
endoscopies, colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, bronchoscopies,
EGD's and ERCP's)* If doctor calls for precertification
on these, he will be told it is not needed.
- PET
Scan
- Mental
Health Services
|
Precertification
is no longer required for endoscopies, colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies,
bronchoscopies, EGD's and ERCP's.
Please
Note:
-
Participant,
family member or physician must notify WebTPA prior to
non-emergency hospitalization. Penalty for noncompliance
is no benefits payable for hospitalization and related
expense.
-
Prior
authorization is not a guarantee of coverage. The precertification
department of WebTPA is designed ONLY to determine whether
whether or not a course of treatment is Medically Necessary
and appropriate.
-
It
is the employee or covered persons responsibility to make
certain that the needed precertification process has been
followed by the doctor's office.

to verify if your procedure has been precertified by your
