Concetta Hollinger
Sarasota Police Department

Concetta was presented
and honored before the City Commission
on Monday, August 17, 2009

Concetta Hollinger, Victim Advocate, SPD, has a position that is a crucial resource for victims of crime, witnesses to crime, and those experiencing crisis and trauma in the City of Sarasota. The Victim Advocate Program is a vital link to the community, showing law enforcement’s support to crime victims and those affected by crisis by providing critical assistance and resources in times of tragedy. Advocates act as coordinators between victims, officers and detectives, the Office of the State Attorney, and other outside agencies through on-scene crisis response and continued follow up with victims.

In 2008 Concetta assisted with a total of 242 clients. The responses included homicides, suicides, deaths, sexual violence, domestic violence, battery burglaries, assault and other crisis situations.

Concetta designed a Sexual Battery Liaison Training Manuel and trained two new liaisons. She was also responsible for the design of the Victim Advocate Volunteer Program Training Manuel and trained one new volunteer. She is active with the Sarasota County Victim Advisory Council, Domestic Violence Task Force, Sexual Assault Response Team, Grief Loss and end of Life Coalition and has made many radio appearances on behalf of domestic violence and child abuse issues.

When people have an emergency they call 911 – when Sarasota Police Officers find a victim in need of assistance they call Concetta. Concetta Hollinger serves her community and the Sarasota Police Department with excellence and pride!
Congratulations!
