Richard
Humphrey, Utilities Mechanic III, has been with the City’s
Utilities Division since 2003. From the very beginning, Richard
brought an enthusiasm to the work environment and took the
initiative to work, learn and grow. He’s earned many
certificates and attended numerous training sessions to help
understand the importance of his field of work.
Periodic maintenance on our streetlights may warrant a new
light bulb or replacement poles for the Traffic Department.
Richard has made himself available to replace those poles,
or put up additional poles, when the rest of Sarasota is still
sleeping. Not only does he help maintain safety on our city
streets, but he assists the RO Plant employees by installing
brine pumps after his normal shift so the plant can continue
normal operations.
Richard is an all-around employee. His ideas and help within
the department are applauded. Within the past year, departments
have been consolidating and Richard has stepped in to help
move furniture, equipment and dividers for better workflow.
Not only does Richard Humphrey take pride in his work, he
has worked with our youth in the community for over twenty
years coaching youth football and teaching techniques and
teamwork. Richard Humphrey, Utilities Mechanic III, serves
his community and the Public Works Department with excellence
and pride!
Congratulations!
