Steve
Stancel, Chief Planner, NDS, began his career with the City
of Sarasota in April 2007. Serving in the redevelopment capacity
he has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to organize, coordinate,
and oversee the achievement of our organization’s goals
and objectives. His leadership and managerial skills are superb
and he has elevated the City’s Redevelopment program
to its highest level.
Steve is fully capable of working independently, and excels
when casework allows some self-direction, judgment calls and
decision-making. He stays on task, even within this environment
of hectic pace and heavy workload. He is trained and experienced
in handling difficult situations with successful resolution.
In February 2010 Steve ahieved a milestone with his work on
the Palm Avenue parking garage with the City
Commission’s decision to move forward with the project
by selecting an architectural design for the façade.
Steve wrestled with each and every detail. The process was
not an easy task. Steve is one of the City’s top performers
and this project would not be the success it is without his
dedication.
Steve is a pleasure to work with in an office environment
that is extremely busy from the moment the office opens up
to the public. He remains calm and views his work from the
eyes of the customer. Steve Stancel is an excellent employee
who takes pride in his craft.
