Lori DeLoach, Procurement Specialist III has been an incredible
asset to the City of Sarasota since the start of her employment
in the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department.
She has been innovative in changing the process of Purchase
Orders and assisted her co-workers in streamlining the FMS
(Financial Management System). She possesses a positive attitude
and is always willing to assist all internal and external
customers. Lori is a highly motivated person, and a self-starter.
Her colleagues in the City know that when she agrees to get
something done, it will be taken care of with a smile!
Lori is the gateway to Purchasing for citizens seeking help
or offer information about opportunities for bidding goods
and services to the City. One of her roles is to know and
understand the regulations for bidding and securing Purchase
Orders, as well as to know which of the other professionals
in the Purchasing Department is handling specific projects.
In that regard, she will assist people with their general
inquiries, or direct them to the appropriate professional.
Lori has taken charge to complete training courses that will
enhance her performance. Recently, she successfully took part
in the Introduction to Public Procurement training through
the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, Inc. This
training enables her to provide up to date information on
State regulations and contracts to each of our City departments.
Many of us are aware of the “end of the fiscal year”
rush to close out all PO’s and invoices. Lori maintains
the helpful attitude needed to make this process run smooth.
Congratulations!
