Robert
Veverka was recognized as the City of Sarasota Employee of the Month
for August 2010. Since that honor was given, Robert has continued
to serve the community going above and beyond the call of duty.
The many tasks, passion and responsibilities for his position take
Robert in many directions. From time to time our Refuse Equipment
trucks break down. It takes many companies to build these vehicles
and Robert continues to educate himself to keep up with the new
parts that are added. This is not an easy task to repair these trucks
since finding solutions to a few problems often times result in
finding which company is responsible for the broken part. The City
Garage can boast a cost savings by having these large trucks repaired
on site.
In addition to the exemplary skills Robert brings to the Public
Works department, he has stepped up to meet and exceed expectations.
His
work ethic surprises his co-workers every day. The Public works
staff has received numerous compliments from other department employees
regarding his work ethic and pride he takes in servicing and repairing
the vehicles.
Never one to slow down, Robert makes a point to organize his daily
work routine to work on all vehicles in accordance of their importance.
He’s taken the time to continue his training opportunities
taking exams in engine repair and performance, automotive transmission,
suspension and steering, brakes, electronic systems and heating
and A/C units. Robert Veverka, Equipment Maintenance III, truly
serves the Public Works Fleet Maintenance with excellence and pride!
Congratulations!
