The
Neighborhood Grant Program provides funding for projects
that
have the potential to strengthen the Neighborhood Association
and the community it serves. Neighborhood Grants are offered
twice a year, once in the Spring and again in the Fall.

Each
grant cycle the City Commission votes to approve Neighborhood
Grants. The Neighborhood Grant Program (NGP) has helped
many associations improve their communities with projects
ranging from signage to crime watch assistance.The
NGP is designed to strengthen City neighborhood associations
and the local community they serve.
Each
application will be given a maximum total of 100 points
as follows: Project Description (20
points) - How well does the application describe the
project and its goals?
Demonstration of Community Need (20 points)
- How well does the application describe, communicate/address
a community need? Evidence of Community/Association
Strengthening (20 points) - Does the project
have the potential to strengthen the association and
neighborhood? Community Support (20
points) - Does the application show evidence of community
consensus for the project and resident involvement
in the implementation? Appropriate of Proposed
Budget (20 points) - Are the budget revenues
and expenses clear and justifiable, funding source
appropriate?
The grants awarded to City Neighborhoods during each
cycle begin the implementation process as soon as
funds are approved by the City Commission. It 's an
exciting year ahead as we follow the progress of the
projects and witness their successes. Neighborhood
Services staff are working with neighborhood leadership
to administrate projects and track their progress.
