The City of Sarasota Engineering Department permits, manages and inspects all work in the public right-of-way. In addition, the City Engineering Department coordinates with the Florida Department of Transportation, District 1, Sarasota County and other consultants to design and construct the right-of-way improvement projects in the City's adopted Capital Improvement Plan.
