LEGACY BENCH

LEGACY TREE & BENCH PROGRAMS

These programs, administered by the City of Sarasota - Neighborhood Services, enable residents to dedicate a newly planted tree or bench to a person or institution of their choice.

The approximate cost for participation in the tree program is $500. This fee includes the purchase of a tree or palm chosen from an approved list provided by the City and installation. A brass plaque and pedestal are also provided. The plaque is four inches high and six inches wide. Dedications shall be limited to four lines with a maximum of 35 characters per line. The preparation of installing the Legacy Tree typically can take six to eight weeks until the tree or palm is actually planted, which should be taken into account if a memorial service is planned.

The approximate cost for participation in the bench program is $1000. The City will install a new bench at an available location of your choice. This fee includes the purchase of a bench, engraved brass plaque acknowledging the generosity of your gift and installation of the bench.

Please call (941) 954-2612, if you have any questions or would like to set-up your Legacy Tree or Bench. You can also e-mail to Nancy Kelly at nancy.kelly@sarasotagov.com
