Homeownership Program
Sarasota County is partnering
with Non Profit Developers to identify and repair abandoned
and foreclosed properties in Sarasota County. The homes that
are purchased through the NSP1 Program, when repaired, will
be sold to homebuyers whose incomes are at or below 100%
of the median income adjusted to household size. The program
also provides financial assistance to help the homebuyer purchase
the home through an enhanced down payment assistance.

on this website.

Rental Program
Non Profit Developers are acquiring
and repairing foreclosed properties in the City of Sarasota
and Sarasota County for rent to households whose income does
not exceed 50% of median
income adjusted to household size. The rental payment
cannot exceed the Low HOME Rent Limit for the HOME Partnership
Program as published by the United States Department of Housing
and Urban Development less the cost of any tenant paid utilities
as published by the Sarasota County Section 8 Housing Choice
Voucher Program or
If the Eligible Family receives assistance from the Section
8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, the amount approved as reasonable
by the housing authority administering the Section 8 Housing
Choice Voucher.
If the property is rented through the Section 8 Housing Choice
Voucher Program, the utility schedule of that housing authority
may be used instead of the Sarasota County schedule.
