A state designated Enterprise Zone is an area targeted for economic revitalization. Businesses located within an Enterprise Zone are eligible to take advantage of various financial incentives offered by the State of Florida through the Enterprise Zone Program.
Sarasota County/City of Sarasota was awarded an official Enterprise Zone designation, effective January 1, 2002. The Sarasota Enterprise Zone was redesignated effective Jan. 1, 2006 through Dec. 31, 2015. The Enterprise Zone in Sarasota is approximately two square miles in North Sarasota, concentrated in the areas of 10th Street, U.S. 41, Myrtle St. and U.S. 301.
How do I apply?
All Enterprise Zone tax credit applications are required to be submitted to the City of Sarasota, Newtown Redevelopment Office for verification that the business or applicant seeking Enterprise Zone tax credits is located within the Enterprise Zone boundaries.
For more information concerning specific benefits offered by the Enterprise Zone, please contact the Enterprise Zone Coordinator, Dru Jones, at 941.365.2200 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
