Osprey Avenue/Luke Wood Park Utility Project

In May 2008, the City Commission approved the design and construction of Lift Station No. 87 (LS87). LS87 will be located in Luke Wood Park west of US 301 and south of Mound Street (US41). LS87 will replace the existing Lift Station No. 7 (LS7) located at 935 Pomelo Avenue. In order to redirect the sanitary sewer system from Pomelo Avenue to Luke Wood Park, a major sanitary sewer system will be constructed using the latest technology called micro-tunneling. The state of the art LS87 will be constructed with the majority of elements located underground to minimize the visual impact to the park. Additional landscaping is planned as part of the project. LS7 will be decommissioned and demolished. LS87 will handle the existing and future effluent discharge needs.
