(Note: Development Review
Committee meetings are open to the public. However, participation is
limited to committee members, unless a committee member requests information
of an applicant (Reference: Zoning Code, Section III-603). Opportunities
for citizen comment on proposed developments are provided through the
Neighborhood Workshops, by scheduling appointments with individual City
Staff, or by speaking or submitting written comments at public hearings
before the Planning Board or City Commission.)

What kinds of proposals are reviewed
by the DRC?
|
|
|
|
1.
Typically,
applicants who have submitted a Development Approval
Application package to the Office of the City Auditor
and Clerk come before the Development Review Committee in order to verify
that the proposal meets the regulations and standards of the City as well
as state and federal requirements.
|
|
|
|
|
2.
A second
type of application review by the Development Review Committee is the Pre-Application. The pre-application
is a less formal process that allows applicants to discuss their ideas
for future development in the City. All applicants receive a written
summary of the conference from the Planning Department. Pre-application
requests are due at least 9 days prior to the scheduled DRC meeting.

Lastly,
the Development Review Committee also reviews a variety of City projects
and proposals. Typically, any project involving an expenditure of more
than $10,000 is subject to a courtesy review by the DRC. Staff may also
use this time to coordinate inter-departmental procedures and processes.
