Planning Staff have grouped all the public comments received by the relevant chapter in the Sarasota City Plan(1998). Comments were first grouped by the most applicable Chapter in the Sarasota City Plan.

Next, staff identified broad issues and themes that came to light after viewing all the comments as a group. A total of 32 different issues or themes were identified and addressed by staff.

The themes identifed by staff from its review of the Section B comments, are not the only ones that could have been generated. Since this is a somehwat subjective exercise, scores of others themes could have emerged depending upon the person undertaking the task. However, staff believes that the ones that are included herein reflect a reasonable approach to aggregating the individual comments into a legitimate set of themes.Once the themes were identified, staff generated observations on the relevancy of the themes to the comprehensive planning process that should be of value during discussion of the EAR.

FInally every individual or group that made a comment on the E.A.R. was added to a mailing list. They will be updated with the E.A.R. processing schedule of public hearings and other important information.
