The Support
Services Division of the Sarasota Police Department is responsible
for most non-operational activities that allow the Sarasota
Police Department to provide law enforcement services to the
community. The Support Services Division is responsible for
ensuring that our officers have the necessary equipment and
support to provide high quality law enforcement services to
our citizens. Captain Mikel Hollaway heads this division and

The Support Services Division administers the vehicle seizure
program and the skateboard, scooter, and freestyle bicycle
seizure program including: owner notification, fines collection,
scheduling hearings, and vehicle or article release.
It is also our responsibility to process, file, and retain
the official police reports received by this Agency and to
make them available to the public in accordance with the applicable
state laws.
The Support Services Division also coordinates outside
requests for the services of off-duty officers and provides
administrative support for all city-approved special events.
Lastly, the Support Services Division is responsible for the
efficient and timely response of S.W.A.T., the Crisis/Hostage
Negotiation Team, the Explosive Materials Unit , the Underwater
Search and Recovery Dive Team, the Honor Guard, and the Field
Force Units in emergency situations.
The Support Services Division consists of
the following subdivisions: Fiscal; Payroll and Personnel; Alarm Enforcement; Records; Management
Information Services - Computer Operations, Communications/Computer
Analyst; Services Unit - Building Maintenance and the Department supply room; Special Response Units - S.W.A.T., Crisis/Hostage Negotiation
Team, Explosive Materials Unit , Dive Team, Honor Guard, and
Field Force and Emergency Management.
