CITY ROLLS OUT REFRESHED
FACEBOOK PAGE

Sarasota, FL:  The City of Sarasota Facebook page is refreshed with a new look and informative community updates posted regularly.  The page can be found at www.Facebook.com/CityofSarasota or by searching City of Sarasota on Facebook.

“With any social media platform, particularly Facebook, posts needs to be current and relevant to people’s lives,” said Jan Thornburg, Senior Communications Manager.  “We have a renewed focus on communicating regularly and consistently via Facebook, whether it’s to notify residents about career opportunities, a new park, street closure or a change in solid waste collection. You’ll see regular updates on the page, day and night, weekdays and weekends.”

Due to recent operating changes by Facebook, there is no guarantee the City’s posts will appear in a user’s news feed consistently.  So, Facebook users are encouraged to visit the City of Sarasota page regularly in addition to ‘liking’ it.  All posts can be viewed on the City of Sarasota page in real time.

The City of Sarasota launched its Facebook page in 2012.
