Sarasota, FL: Mayor Suzanne Atwell will meet with two Korean public officials Tuesday, March 6 at 2 p.m. in Room 109 at City Hall, 1565 First Street. The Koreans work at city halls within various districts in Seoul, the Korean capital, and are interested in learning about City of Sarasota government. “I’m looking forward to welcoming our visitors from Seoul and sharing information with them,” said Mayor Suzanne Atwell. “It’s exciting to know they want to learn how we function as a municipal government. It will be mutually educational to discover what we have in common, as well as how we operate differently.”

Following the meeting, the Korean delegation will tour City Hall. They will see the Commission Chambers, Office of the City Auditor and Clerk, Finance Department, Information Technology and Neighborhood and Development Services.

The Korean team is visiting as part of a 4-week tour of Southwest Florida with the Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange (GSE). The GSE program is a cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers. Members of the Sarasota Sunrise Rotary Club are hosting them. The Koreans also will spend time in Port Charlotte, Fort Myers and Naples.
