Sarasota, FL: To help promote healthy lifestyles, the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex will present its 2nd annual fitness challenge “Lose Big, Win Bigger” starting Monday, April 6.

The challenge begins with a weigh-in at RLTCC on April 6.  Over the next 8 weeks, participants will be challenged and encouraged to get fit and lose weight via diet and exercise.  To help participants stay motivated, RLTCC staff will provide ongoing support.  Documentaries on the importance of food choices and healthy eating also will be screened.  In addition, ‘Lose Big, Win Bigger’ participants will have the opportunity to win prizes including a Fitbit, Wii fitness package and a mini tablet.

The final weight out for the challenge will be held on Monday, June 1.  The winners will be based on percentage of body weight lost, and will be announced the following day on Tuesday, June 2.

“This is a friendly competition designed to help community members get in shape and improve their overall health, hopefully resulting in a lifelong commitment,” said Jerry Fogle, RLTCC Manager.

The entry fee for ‘Lose Big, Win Bigger’ is $30 per person, which includes a two month full access pass at RLTCC, three complimentary fitness classes per week (The Blend Zone, Zumba and yoga) and a free water bottle.  Entry fees are due at the time of registration.  Registration currently is being taken at the RLTCC front desk, 1845 34th Street.
