Security and Utility Deposit
Assistance Program (SUDAP)
SUDAP was established to
provide security deposits and utility deposits for low-income
(below 50% of the Area Median Income) individuals and families
participating in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher or Public
Housing Programs. In order to encourage good stewardship of
private apartments and homes, tenants participating in the
program are required to pay a portion of their required security
and utility deposits. The remainder is paid by SUDAP in the
form of a 0% loan that is repaid when the tenant vacates the
property or is no longer enrolled in the Section 8 Housing
Choice Voucher or Public Housing Program.
