Special Needs Program

An important part of the mission at OHCD is to protect the dignity and increase the independence of "special needs" populations in our community. One of government's most important functions is to ensure that vulnerable populations are not ignored or mistreated.

At OHCD, we are very proud to have many of our programs targeted at improving the lives of special needs citizens in Sarasota. Our housing strategies in the area of "special needs" serve as models for the rest of the state of Florida.

Our seven special needs programs can be divided into two main categories, homeless and medical strategies.
